The Black Pin-Up Coloring book- Adult coloring book experience

My name is Kru Mackenzie also known as 'The Petite Pin-Up Girl'. And I am a visual artist and over all creative. I wanted to create a post about the project that I created known as The Black Pin-Up coloring book.

The Black Pin-Up coloring book was created at the beginning of 2024 but was an idea in my head since late 2022; however, this started well before this time. My love of vintage started from a young girl listening to my grandmother play Motown Music at our family events. This music stuck with me in a way that I didn't realize as being significant at the time. As I got older the love for this time in history only grew. I began embodying everything about that era specifically how I dressed and the community that I began to associate with. The modern Pin-up community welcomed me with open arms, and I fell headfirst. The women specifically inspired me with their beauty, style and appreciation of the vintage culture of the golden age.

Although inspired, I noticed that the women who happen to look like me were not represented or underrepresented in the art/creativity space within the modern community. I would go to different car shows and annual meet-n-greets such as Viva Las Vegas and see different artist's offerings and found myself disappointed every time. I decided to change this.

Thus, The BPCB was born. I have seen the joy, appreciation and amazed responses that I received from the community as a whole. I also received reports of adults feeling more relaxed, calm and more creative from utilizing the books. I knew then that this was something that I wanted to continue to grow and offer to the world.

This coloring book is unique, glamorous, and beneficial to all who come across it. I cannot wait to see where

it grows and goes.
